Chapter One: The Dream
In an empty field, miles away from the nearest village, nothing was stirring. In the distance a herd of sheep covering the side of a small hill were idly roaming about devouring grass and a gentle breeze was blowing, barely disturbing the knee high grass which was waving side to side in the field. All was normal here; nothing unusual ever took place, that was until this day. The silence was interrupted by a loud tumultuous pop and a rather tall man wearing a pointed hat and a red cloak seemed to appear out of nowhere. Never at any point in history had a man like this ever been near this field, this man was a wizard.
The man's cloak and hat was adorned in golden half moons and stars and he looked like he was nearly one hundred years old. He had shoulder length silver hair and a rather long thin beard that hung to his waist. The man reached into his cloak and pulled out a golden watch which he flicked open and examined closely, this watch wasn't a normal watch, infact it was downright strange. Instead of two hands, it had twelve and instead of numbers there where little planets rotating around the edge.
After examining the watch for a moment the man looked up and mumble something under his breath which sounded a bit like, "they’re late". The man replaced the watch back into a pocket in his cloak and slowly glanced around his surroundings, he spotted the sheep and started to watch them interestedly.
"Strange animals", he said shaking his head.
Behind him there where three loud pops in quick succession.
"You’re late", the man said still watching the sheep.
"We're terribly sorry" a women's voice said.
"We were held up, do you have the amulet?" the voice questioned sounding worried.
"Yes, yes I have the amulet" the man said hurriedly turning around to face who he was talking to.
Behind him there were three people, two women and one man.
"Good morning, Morgan", the man said nodding in the direction of the woman who had spoken to him.
She looked like she was middle-aged and she had her greying hair tied up in a tight bun and she was wearing plain black robes. On her face she wore a severe expression.
"How are you both Fredrik, Sybil?" the man said looking to the other two.
"We are both good, and how are you Jerzey? " Fredrik replied in a heavy German accent talking for both himself and Sybil.
Fredrik was a young man perhaps in his late twenties or early thirties, he wore sky blue robes and a long black cape which he had slung around his shoulders. Sybil looked to be about forty years old she had long blond hair. She was dressed in a dark purple robe and had many colourful bracelets that jangled when she moved on her wrists.
"I am good thank you" Jerzey replied his light blue eyes sparkling in the sunlight as he clapped his hands together.
"Now, to business my dear friends" he said.
He reached into his robes again, but this time he pulled out an amulet. The amulet was made of green jade with a large blood red diamond embedded in the centre and the amulet’s cord was made of entwined unicorn tail hairs. The three others all gasped in surprise.
"Is... is that the amulet" Morgan asked Jerzey in a tremulous voice.
Jerzey glanced down at the amulet he was holding.
"Yes, I do believe it is" he said in a calm voice. The three others all took a step back.
"Oh come on you three it's perfectly safe, it won’t bite " Jerzey said to them.
Fredrik managed a nervous smile but Morgan and Sybil both looked dubious at this.
"Yes.... yes of course it can't bite" Fredrik said in his heavy German accent, mainly to reassure himself.
Jerzey looked at the three in front of him and frowned.
"We are still going to do this" he questioned them.
They all looked nervously at one another for a moment.
"Yes of course we are, that amulet is too dangerous, if it fell into the wrong hands, I shudder to think what could happen" Morgan said in an authoritative tone.
Both Fredrik and Sybil nodded in agreement.
"So that settles it then" Jerzey confirmed pausing for a moment and smiling.
"The only problem is what are we going to do with the amulet if we can't destroy it" he added.
"If we can't destroy it then we'll have to hide it wont we?" Sybil said.
Jerzey regarded her with thoughtful eyes and then replied.
"Yes, I think you’re right we'll have to hide it somewhere where no-one will ever be able to get to it".
There was a pregnant pause, in which everyone looked around, waiting for someone to suggest something.
"At the bottom of the ocean" everyone looked up at Fredrik for a moment.
"At the bottom of the ocean?" Jerzey asked, "why at the bottom of the ocean?" Fredrik looked into Jerzey's blue eyes.
"Who would think to look on the bottom of the ocean?" Jerzey nodded.
".Yes that sounds good, but how do we get it there" he asked.
Fredrik put a hand to his chin and began to stroke his goatee whilst deep in thought; the others continued to watch him waiting for his answer.
"We could seal it magically in a steel box and then drop it from a boat" Morgan and Sybil nodded in agreement.
"No, all it would take is a powerful witch or wizard to break the charm, we would need to do something else to protect it" Jerzey said rejecting the idea.
The four witches and wizards went on like this for almost and hour thinking of different ways of making sure that if any-one did find the steel box they wouldn't be able to get inside.
"Okay... okay, so we'll put muggle repelling charms on it, but how do we make sure that a witch or wizard couldn't break into it" Jerzey asked himself out loud.
"I know I've got it" cried Morgan startling the others.
"What is it" Jerzey asked with a serious look on his face.
"Okay, we seel it in a steel box and put muggle repelling charms on it so that a muggle will not just accidentally wonder upon it" Morgan stated counting two of her figures.
"Then we take it out in a boat and drop it to the bottom of the ocean" Sybil sighed impatiently.
"Yes we know that already, get to the point Morgan" she said with an edge of annoyance in her voice.
"I am getting to the point Sybil" Morgan said giving Sybil a not so friendly glare.
"If no one else has anything to say" she said glancing at both Fredrik and Jerzey.
"No please continue" Jerzey said in an amused sounding voice.
"Well, I thought we could make keys and hide them far away so that even if some-one finds the box they'd have to have the keys to open the chest" Morgan said which made both Jerzey and Fredrik clap there hands together.
"Great idea" Fredrik said excitedly, Jerzey also nodded.
"I like it as well" he said looking at Sybil who rolled her eye.
"Well okay, it's a good idea" she said with a smile on her face, there was a slight pause.
"How many keys would we make" she asked Morgan.
"We'd each make one, then hide it somewhere and place some charms around them to protect the keys" they all agreed to this.
And suddenly for a moment it looked as though the world had stoped dead, nothing moved all was silent. The field and the witches and wizards began to fade until all was pitch black and slowly two bright red evil looking eyes opened up and a low pitched cackle broke the silence, at that moment Harry sat bolt upright in his bed drenched in cold sweat clutching his scar.
