Rough English translation:
Among the Yellow Emperor, the Yan Emperor and Chi You,
The Yellow Emperor won and became the leader of the unity of tribes.
When Lord Yao died, Lord Shun succeeded him and made Yu control the floods.
When Shun died, Yu the Great took over and started the Xia dynasty.
Yu¡¦s son, Qi of Xia, was proclaimed the king and the family ruled China;
Jie of Xia, a ruthless emperor, lost China to the Shangs.
Tang of Shang¡¦s rule was good to the people,
And the people of Shang all loved their new emperor.
At the end of the Shang dynasty, Zhou of Shang cared little but enjoying life.
He built the Lutai palace, the wine pool and the meat forest.
When Ji Fa, Duke Wu of Zhou attacked Yin,
He escaped to Lutai and committed suicide by burning.
Wu started the Zhou dynasty but he was still afraid of the Shangs,
So he made Wu Geng the Lord of Yin.
Guan Shu, Cai Shu and Huo Shu
Were situated near Yin to watch the Shangs.
Jiang Ziya (Elder Duke of Qi), Duke of Zhou and Duke of Zhao,
The descendants of the Yellow Emperor, Yao and Shun,
And the leaders of other former tribes
Were all given land through Fenjian.
The Duke of Zhou tried to help Cheng of Zhou with his rule,
But Guan Shu, Cai Shu and Huo Shu were annoyed and tried to revolt.
After three years of bitter battles, he succeeded,
And set up the eastern capital city of Luoyi.
You of Zhou liked to play,
Deposed Prince Yijiu and deposed Queen Shen.
The Marquis of Shen united with Quanrong,
Destroyed Gaojing and assassinated You.
Yijiu was declared King Ping.
Gaojing was messy and Gaojing was destroyed.
King Ping moved to Luoyi
Starting eastern Zhou and ending western Zhou.
The King¡¦s power was getting declining rapidly.
Duke Huan of Qi, Duke Shang of Song,
Duke Wen of Jin, Duke Mu of Qin,
And King Zhuang of Chu were the ¡¥five hegemons¡¦.
King Fuchai of Wu conquered Yue,
King Ouqian of Yue was a prisoner of war.
Ouqian worked hard to raise the Yue army.
Finally, Wu was captured by Ouqian.
Jin was divided by three officials into Han, Zhao and Yi,
Along with Chu, Yan, Qi and Qin were the seven warring states.
Shang Yang¡¦s political reforms made Qin stronger,
And Ying Zheng (Qinshihuangdi) unified China.
