Lake Powell
P L L Loomis

My most embarrassing moment was when I was in Lake Powell. The second day in to our trip we all decided to go cliff jumping. I was sort of freaked out to go but my Dad convinced me to. At about 2:00 clock we got all ready to go and we got in the speed boat. After looking for a cliff in the blistering heat we found one in about 30 minutes. We all jumped in to the water to cool off. In a few minutes Ryan was at the top of the rock. Ryan was debating whether to jump off or not, but despite his fear he jumped! After that we all started to jump off the lower parts of the rock. My sister, my Dad, and I started with 10 feet, then 20, then 30. My Dad and I decided to jump off the top with the boys, so we all lined up. My Dad and I hugged. We said I love you and joined the line. My mind was racing and then my mom’s friend Brad said three and we jumped. The only thing was, that one person did not jump and that was my Dad. I hit the water like it was cement, my feat first, then my butt and under I went. I was sobbing once I came out of the water because I slapped my butt really hard on the water. Once my Dad heard me cry he jumped in after me to help me out of the water and on to the boat. When I was getting on the boat and my Dad notices something on my bathing suit. There was a rip in my bathing suit butt as long as my lower arm. He tells me to turn around and I do and all the adults were giggling at me. I look down and I see the rip. Once I looked at the adults my face was bright red. Most of the people that had cameras that day got a full moon in their pictures.
