The Greatness Of Tomorrow

Acceptance has never been easy to acquire.
Everyone struggles to find their place in this big big world,
Especially the frowned upon group of misfits—teenagers.
We wander without a purpose in this all-too-big world.
Who are we?

Late nights of cramming for tests
Added to grade and college pressures
Ultimately result in a burned out teen.
College hangs ominously over the weary shoulders of today’s youth.
Who are we?

Peer pressure amasses aplenty.
Society closes in on us.
Claustrophobia sets in with a menace.
A trapped mentality paralyzes many.
Who are we?

Adults not yet fully grown,
We fight our childish impulses
In a desperate attempt to be a respected adult.
We hope that time will cure our teenage disease.
Who are we?

Yet these years define our character.
These years shape our path in life.
These years turn dreams to realities.
These years open the possibilities of a better world than high school
We are the greatness of tomorrow.
