Make Them Shine

Outside the car wash
I reach for the wax and
start to shine the cars.
I pretend inside they are dreams
that people have.
Like Kimberly with her lexus and
the model life she'll never live, as she
settled to be a salesperson instead.
Then there's Henry who drives a pick up
and dreamed of being a race car driver.
Over to the left is Mark who wanted to be a
stunt man and now drives a mustang.
A world in every car and it only takes one
good sparkle to change the outcome.
The boss enters and I realize deep down Im
just another car with a unfulfilled dream.
leaving the lot I decide tomorrow is my new
chance and for once Im not coming back.
As Im gonna be a bentley that made it, and Im
sure Mark will show us his talents in hollywood
in the movies, as I no longer hold a rag.
Inside I have a million dollar smile and outside
im truly blessed with my ultimate dream..
