Comes To Fall
Annacat

The moment passed
I was distracted
From first to last
Nothing that I did
Just stopped looking
Forward

Stopped pulling gray hairs
In the mirror
Stopped going anywhere
Rather just ignore
That I was going
Nowhere

I stopped buying things
That would last
All the cuts and dings
From my past
Accumulated
Suffocated

Looking to the day
With eyes wide open
My head turned away
And seeing nothing
Stumbling through
These long days

Waiting for a spring
Knowing there will be none
What final moments bring
Is not for anyone
To think about
At this age

Shake off uncertainty
There is no warranty
People depend on me
To take care of them
Even when it
Comes to fall
