Happy Being Me
Katherine V Alfano

The waves came crashing down today
And I felt pretty low
And then I realized who I am
And I easily let it go

I am smart and beautiful and one of a kind
And no one can tell me im wrong
No matter how you look at me, or what you say
This is how I am going be, forever long

I wont change cause I love who I am
A strong, independent girl
I am full of love and smile too much
And in the rain I dance and swirl

Judge me,
Keep going all you want
But do you look in the mirror and think,
I am magnificent, kind and strong.

If you are not happy with who you are
How do you expect others to be
Step one, two and three be yourself
I promise you it will end up in cheerful glee

People might judge
And I wont tell you they wont
But guess why their judging
Because you have a happiness that they just don’t

So be yourself and be proud
Because you only have one life to live
Strut your stuff not matter where you are
Because the person you are is the best gift to give.
