The Water Globe Lisa Diaz-Meyer
THE WATER GLOBE
In the shaken, shimmering vale
Of the Father
Only wintry tears may fall
Time wasted but hasn't passed
Not a moment, not a minute
Not an hour… At all
The women glide on ice
A sleigh, a glacial swan
Nearby, magnificent beasts of old
Snort copious clouds in the frigid cold
And hide their hardened hooves in the snow
Buildings are gray and masterfully kindred
Architecturally strong and bejeweled to glow
In the flickering world
The Father's Land.
