New York City Rikki Duncan
There’s a hope rising now in New York City
There’s a new life rising from the smoke and dust
There’s a new hope growing now in New York City
And in the hope, we’ve got to put our trust
There’s a new hope growing now in New York City
With that hope we will open a new door
There’s a new hope rising from the rubble in New York City
Where the twin towers proudly stand, no more
There’s a new life now being born in New York City
The labour pains have come and gone away
There’s a new life growing now in New York City
A hope that comes afresh, with each new day
So stand together now for New York City
Stand united now across the U.S.A,
They did not die in vain in New York City
As a nation once again begins to pray
As the seed of faith was sown in New York City
It now takes root and sprouts up from the ground
The tears we shed were not born out of pity
But tears of love for a nation now still standing proud
So God bless and keep you safe now New York City
The prayers of a nation down upon its knees
The bravery of the heroes there in New York City
As Old Glory flutters proudly in the breeze
There is a fellowship now In New York City
Born out of that sad and tragic day
So stand firmly now for freedom New York City
In the faith and hope which is now here to stay.
