I am a happily married mother of two beautiful intelligent children who is focusing on writing lyrical poetry to compose a book that inspires readers to overcome any circumstance in their life. I have a criminal justice education and 9 years experience in the field. I am a voluntary life coach to youth and addicts with mental illness and am currently pursuing that degree to become a professional in the field.

Invisible Battles
Diana Angela Chang
I am my own prowler in the night
Chasing that high losing the fight
Trying to keep my spirit free and contrite
But it fades and then comes the after bite
The goal is to lean on Gods might
To walk by faith, not by sight
Like mind over matter
But I chose the latter
And fell way down the ladder
Someone shake me from this misery
Where I have no reason but am so weary
Not even drugs can take away the pain
It doesn’t even ease my brain
If I feel nothing, what is the gain?
What do I turn to now?
Is there saving grace for me somehow?
Can it take the pain both inside and out?
I want to know what freedom is all about
Oh I need something without a doubt
As the days go by, same chase, same high
I just sit and I cry
The days go by in the blink of an eye
At the end of every day it seems I didn’t even try

But I moved mountains no one else can see
Slayed goliaths and watered my tree
Oh but you cannot see
Carried the rock of Gibraltar as I went on by
But no you did not see
That which I battle daily
No you just cannot see
Beyond this ocean between you and me

It seems every day is wasted
Getting high is over rated
But I feel I must remain faded
So I continue on jaded
Hurt and heavy laden
Sitting here waiting
Just two steps to graduating
And getting a better spousal rating
Maybe that you will see
When you see me smiling so happily
So let it be, let me be, judgment free
Time will reveal once I am set free
Oh maybe then you will see
Baby I’ve been trying to escape me
But now you can introduce me to me
And maybe then you will see
All that has been and all that will be
