Seeking more knowledge I travel to desolate places Where there are worn, tattered and torn faces Some worth my time, some not at all I give them my number and invite them to call When they’re feeling like they’re going to fall In these places I hold authority and stand tall So I leave inspirational messages on the wall In the moment I am more important than the eight ball They listen to what I have to say They communicate with me in a special way They’d rather chat with me than take a hit of methamphetamine Because I testify that I too once got high as a teen I’ve been here, there and everywhere in between So they feel so comfortable Put the pipe down, sit back, so freely verbal They explain to me their hurdle Like limbs and a head coming out the shell of a turtle I am a dual expert On both ex and introverts Some their stories grim, some lack moral support Some swing by to get high right after court This is where I build a rapport Remind them of the risks, and that of the sort More importantly I bring the word of God Some leave because they think it’s odd But some are encompassed in the staff and the rod So I try to be superb Relate their situation to a proverb Meanwhile I promote the passing around of only herb Then I do a bible study Some want to become my buddy It’s amazing when they break down in prayer I tell them to have no fear That it’s the holy spirit drawn near Because they put down the clear And I helped their voices become amplified As they called out and cried As we know the Holy Spirit doesn’t dwell in unclean places So a liaison I helped them reach spiritual homeostasis Meth users make the most changeable pliable cases After we distinguish the yes or no basis I try to brighten the lights that are dim Who are falling victim to him He that creates stress and strife Tempts you to have meth in your life Lost your kids, losing your wife Giving up your soul To fill that nagging hole I understand that toll But you need to put down that glass bowl Realize it’s a loaded pistol Its evil that crystal Nothing about it is mystical A great evil from the north aint nothing mythical And the battering of its doings critical It doesn’t help, added everyone’s ridicule So I give them a spiritual tool My resources and investment, call me a fool But I read people like a book I see them inside at first look Don’t ask me how, I just know Who has the potential to grow Who is above it all, who is below Who has got a rhythm, who has a flow So far out of the twelve Three are flourishing whose hand I held So is that a success or mission failed? Every life is worth time and investment Empathetic mercy without judgment What they need most is encouragement A testimony to give out some enlightenment It’s truly ironic How many people turn chronic Because no one came carrying a rod, staff or even a stick Or ignited the flame to their wick
