I have put my days and dreams out of mind
Days that are over
Dreams that are done
Oh! But the dreams come anew
At times when I drooping sit
In a clear spring morn
With blossoms around
Or a nightingale to twit
A flutter of the heart and joys abound
That the deams come back to me
But the long lost memories come flooding back
With pain so hard to bear
They tear and rip my heart apart
As when the blasts of winter appear
A tender heart then gives a sigh
A sigh to the memories that taunt
A sigh to the past as the present goes by
Goodbye to the thoughts that haunt
Let the mind rest in peace
Let the thoughts become one
Let the past be past
