Looking down at a crushed flower
in my fist
I remember times
moments missed
held like the flower
in my power
time in a moment
a cool rain
shower
danced in the heat
danced in the rain
pulled life from nothing
created the rain
the flower
the dance
the hour
I yell to the sun
I yell to the rain
will I hold you again
like the flower
petals dead within my hand
trying this time spent as a man
rather have been
a passing shower
or spent this time
as a flower
laying in the hand
of a man I loved
cooled by the rain
or the sun above
so I wait again as the sun keeps shining
no time for love that I kept denying
I'll go to the place where my love lies waiting
flower in my hand
sun in my eyes
to once again
dance in the rain
