Up In The Midnight Sky
Roberto J Moreno

Sultry lips
Bitter the taste in my mouth,
I went without searching,
And I don’t know where I’m going,

No one to need to,
Feeling the dry heat,
The moon is lit and the clock strikes 3 am,
This passionate soul can’t help it,
I wonder if at night you’ve dreamt of a safe place,
Where you can leave your house door open in a moonless night,

Clouded judgments seem to roam my thoughts,
Some darker than a pale gray,
Then again,
I’m self diagnosed to over analyze every action,
Stuck in this thought,
I wonder if the days will make it pass,
Does time ever need help?
I stay up late at night,
Thinking with the satellites up in the sky,
Rolling pictures,
It seems the movie is about to set,
What if I’ve passed my youth?
Old and unable to remember,
Will the ending be the same?
I’m up in a daze,
The world is spinning,
And I can’t tell if it revolves around me,
The piano solo enhances the rotating still camera shot,
The dreaded moment of self discovery,
But only if I had an original thought,
An idea to move the world,
But when alls been said,
What’s left?
Good night.
