Nocturnal Juices
D G Williford

Come now as the bells chime in the courtyard
Fly to me on the wings of a dragonfly
Caress my molten skin until the morning mist dampens our loins

Prick my fingertips with your pointed teeth
Fanning my desire with your wicked heat

Claw your way to my inner music box
Conjure the rhapsody that only you can awaken

Lap the mother’s blood from my throbbing nipple
Drink the nectar that will sustain you for your flight

I hear you approaching and I writhe in expectation
My hips thrust skyward directing your path

By the moon’s eyes we will join and rejoin
Until the twittering of birds voices announce the death toll of the light
