Tonight my weary eyes close too fast
Tonight I find I can not turn back
Wandering down this empty drive
Dreaming of what it is to feel alive
I weave myself a cloth of grey
To shield my face as I make my way
Moving through paths I claim to know
Familiar yet abandoned and overgrown
I ramble further as roads become narrow
Losing myself in the shelter of the shadows
Cleansing my blood with the light of the moon
I release old fears yearning to be new
I stumble upon hurtful thoughts of late
Leaving only time to restore my faith
I'm closer now to where I began
A kinder form of this bitter man
Alas I leave you now with unwilling pace
To find a seemingly restful place
So hold me close in times of peace
And forget me not in this unwelcome leave
