Hear My Shouts
Sara Roggy

I cannot feel it
I don't want to know
where life is going
or where I should go.

You can't tell me;
you don't control my life
only I can tell myself
and I'm fine right here.

I won't be moved,
you cannot touch me
nor move me from my place,
my place among the fire.

I'm in this hell
I can't get out
I'm running away
and you can't hear my shouts.

You leave me here
all alone,
you leave me with the devil
you leave me with myself.

I won't let it hurt me
I won't let myself die
I may be in hell
and I cannot get out
but someday,
someone will hear my shouts.
