Monday will be here soon
And one more useless weekend will have passed
You in your world
Me in mine
We could have ended it today
But you were too busy to listen
And I didn’t care enough to talk
It’s Wednesday now
And you have been lost in your work
For three days now
I’d leave if I thought you would notice
I’d cry if I thought it would help
And I’d love to see you walk through the door
If it were anyone but you
Saturday morning cartoons drown out the sound of emptiness
As the kids run around in their worlds of Barbie and Superman
Monday will be here soon
And one more useless weekend will have passed
We could have ended it today
But I was too busy to listen
And you didn’t care enough to talk
