To be sorry is to be careless
To not consider the consequences
Of your self determined joy
While you profess your regret
Your actions have already spoken
Sorry is an excuse
A last resort to your truth
It is a cover up in your actions
Save it for the next person
That has never heard that plea
Sorry isn’t good enough
To change the ache inside me
To be really sorry is to have changed your present
Choosing us before remorse
To have controlled your destiny
And made a conscious choice
You made your own bed, now you must lie in it
Save your word for someone who’ll buy it
For if your sorrow continues
My forgiveness will run dry
