A Wordy I Love You
Alex Mathew

Feel it inside when you’re all alone feel
My hand upon your heart.
Hear them hold you close when you’re all alone
Hear my words hold you tight.
It’s so hard know your mind my sweet,
Let alone your heart.
When I wish I knew my own
I can only back and smile at my tragic confusion.
Smile through my tears.

Funny thing happened only just today,
I took my head out and looked around for a while
Stopped drinking from your love and checked to see.
To say hello to my life and if nothing else
Just to know that this madness was not just me.
And I smiled and knew that if not for this heart of mine
This love of yours was there as I walked,
Trouble was I walked into a tree!

Oh they laughed and stared and giggled so
To see a suit and tie take such a blow.
And I looked around for a friendly face
And while none could be found I thought back to our words:
“Just a crazy lovesick poetry writing Englishman”
And felt your sweet lips upon my now throbbing head
(Now, please, my sweet, don’t misconstrue my meaning here,
I meant my cranium, just nothing rhymes with it my dear)
And I closed my mind, saw your eyes and floated down the street.

How I wish to read your mind,
To walk alone with you, as well as being a really great view,
You got to know by now just how much I love you!
But just as soon as the thought of you puts a smile across my face
I need to see your soul and read your heart
Let your pain be my sorrow
Let you tears be my tears to
Let your courage be my model
Standing here I called your name across the sea
And for the first time in my life I know that my heart has truly been broken
Not by you, not by me,
But by how cruel life can be.

But what sweet pain a man endures
What broken dreams she touches
The things that no one else can see
The words upon your lips and the thoughts deep in my heart
That are born for you and me
Born of something that should have been.
But as I see the crying night and as I feel her ache
I see your eyes so pure and clear
And feeling my heartstrings pull.

For never in all time my sweet,
Did heaven make a woman such as you.

And while at times I know,
My words may seem too lengthy
But if my sweet they do for you as you do for me
Then not a million would not be plenty.
For your intoxicating wine leaves me reeling
Sensations aroused, your touch has me feeling
I feel your curves and touch your heart
Torn apart and breaking hearts I feel so many things
A woman once said that a heart can’t heal till broken all way through
But I know our hearts are strong
And while this may seem good at first I know what this does mean.
I know that forever, with your smile, my broken heart will hold to dreams.

And now it’s time to shut me up,
And time to see me go.
Never forget my one sweet love
I’ll always love you so.
