This was written during a time when I thought my death was inevitable. My thirst for life and determination to live have helped me, but the battle with the Dark Angel continues. For now I'm winning.

My Battle With The Black Angel
Silents
And as I slip these chains of mortal life,
I trust my soul to the angels above.
I pray my escorts to be as noble as my earthly companions
and as swift as death.
Do not mourn me as one who has never loved.
For I have loved and laughed
and known a kiss so gentle as to cry.
My heart has beat to the sound of true love.
Do not pity me, for I WILL NOT
"Go gentle into that good night..."
I will die my death as I lived.
I will fight a good fight and in the end,
when it is time to surrender to the Black Angel,
I will die my death with dignity.
