"The Dreamer"
Wake up from a dream; I’m here Whatever shall I do? Punch the clock that woke me, dear! The sun is bright and air is clear
Through the shingles comes the light To gather in my shoe Stinging like a scorpion’s spite When I nestle my foot inside
Shit, that hurts! Let me dream! Where the work goes twice as smooth And someone tell the sun its beams Just sicken me to screams
This world is nice; it’s quite ribald, and when it rains it pours But it’s always wet; it’s always moody: Nothing’s ever new It’s “Fuck this; fuck that; I hate it all! I’m walking out the door!” And the bed gets in the way, you sleep, your problems nevermore
Well, I think I’m giving up on awakening again My pistol’s still unused I’ll exercise that trigger finger; I’ll show them all, I’ll win! And dreaming death is a grand awakening from this shit, my friend!
"Clash of the Titans and the Fall of Religion"
The titan fell Down to his marble floor His throne doth vacant, this wanton Hell Called Earth to be no more
The sea rose up, its God in tears Salty, though they’d be And Wind sat down, amongst the jeers Ego on his knee
We had rose and blinded God With Science, Math, and Philosophy And fell from throne, the Juggernaut Yelled, “No Man has worshipped me.”
The Gods cowered from the Earth Mortal, though it’d be And the titans to whom they’d birth With Science, Math, and Philosophy
Blind faith, blind that, and answers where? Amongst the “Who”s and “Why”s The Gods of “Just Because” beware The “blind” have opened eyes.
