War, I Remember, The Hunter, The Dance Saskia Dodd
His body fell to the ground,
Like a rag doll, limp and boneless.
His limbs werent all there
Three was all that could be counted.
Blood covered his body,
He did not feel pain,
It was over in an instant,
The grenade, the shock, the kill.
Animals dont express
The emotions humans feel,
Yet which one is more human
When man, for no reason,
Maims and kills?
I Remember
I remember
Your eyes when they
Looked into mine
I remember
Holding you
For the first time
I remember
Your curls and
Soft blonde hair
I remember
The fights and
Good times we shared
I remember
The tears as you
Took your last breath
I remember thinking
A son should not die.
The Hunter
He sets his sights
And aims with the precision
Of one who has maimed his whole life.
Tension and anticipation
Run through his muscles
Finger twitches, trigger is pulled.
The bullet speeds through the air
To collide with its victim.
The Dance
He comes to her nightly
And dances in the moonlight
She lets him take the lead
This man, this woman
Losing all control
As music engulfs them
And who is this man?
She wonders when he goes
This stranger that dances
Then disappears.
