This poem was published in Quill Books and the International library of Poetry. I've made a slight change. Originally the poem said that my Grandpa was refined. I've changed the word refined to divine. I did this because refined isn't a word that describes him accurately.

In Memory Of Burley Johnson
Randy Johnson
Dedicated to my Grandpa who died August 3, 1994.
Such a wonderful man so selfless and divine.
We were all a part of his love until the end of his time.
Now he's passed away, ashes to ashes dust to dust.
It's hard to let go but sadly I'm afraid we must.
I felt so much sorrow as we lowered him in the ground.
It's so sad to know that he'll no longer be around.
While on this Earth, he left us a special gift
and when we're deeply troubled, his memory is sure to give us a lift.
I wished he was still alive but I'll never get my wish.
He was my Grandpa and sadly he'll be missed.
With a voice as soft as a grain of sand,
he was a good christian and a very special man.
