Forever Blue
Mungo Faust

Peace
Like the silence in a meadow
In a land where time began
Where its beauty, life and nature
Had yet to be maimed by man
In a world that had such meaning
Within the beauty of its face
And its beauty hurled it forward
As it whirled its way through space

Love
Like an Erewhon it was spinning
Through an everlasting void
Noiseless in its ceaseless wonder
From the imaginings of God
Who blinked as he created
This wonder from above
And then didn’t seem to notice
That man had a lack of love

Hate
When the dawn of mans creation
Took the peace away from the land
He blinked again as evil
Blindly tried its destructive hand
At the ruling of such beauty
As it whirled its way through space
But for all its sinful wishes it
Couldn’t mar the beauty of the face

War
Like a dream that was now over
Peace left the hearts of most mankind
And in the gap that it had left there
Now resides a different mind
In the form of all that’s avid
That lives there in its place
And it festers without ending
As we whirl around through space

Regret
Thoughts that whisper in your ego
Words that pierce through your heart
Half remembered songs and notions
Slowly tearing you apart
Say you know it’ll soon be over
Time’s short for the human race but
Take some solace in the knowing
The world will ever whirl through space

Alone
As it spins its lonely journey
Through the vastness of the void
No-one left to help destroy it
Only comets to avoid
With its beauty ever growing
In the loneliness of space
Proudly showing all that watches
The timeless beauty of its face

Peace (regained)
Like the silence in a meadow
In a land where time began
Where its beauty, life and nature
Has gained from death of man
A world that has such meaning
Within the beauty of its face
And its beauty drives it forward
As it whirls silently through space
