Margo's Truth

“Listen!” said the teacher
“For my words are old and wise
I can preach to you for ever
And keep you by my side
But you must take your own path
In this world and embrace your fears
Then when your time here’s finally up
I’ll dry those frightened tears
You’ll know my door when you see it
A sign on it will read
‘Saints and sinners welcome
And those who are in need’
No one will be shown away
From my doorway when you knock
Whether you are rich or poor
Or have been the type to mock
I’ll always judge you fairly
And I’ll be gentle as I find
That life has hurt you badly
And played havoc with your mind
I’ll always walk in your shoes
As you journey through your life
I’ll help you with your burden
And heal the wounds you get from strife
Remember I am on your side
I’m with you wherever you are
Do not fear the grim reaper
As from him I’m never far
What ever you believe in
If there is kindness in your heart
I’ll never be far away from you and
From my love you can’t depart
Remember you’re created
In the image of Our Lord
And He has countless reflections
And all of them adored
So listen to my words
Believe you never are alone
I’ll be there at your parting
And I’ll light your journey home”
So many men that heard him
From fear branded him a fool
They crucified him inhumanely
For he wasn’t quite the tool
That they wanted in their selfish quest
To be the controllers of all men
Fear would work much better and
At his death they all sighed ‘Amen’
With the threat of sulphurous fire
The churches rose in might
With tambourines and war machines
And chants of ‘fighting their good fight’
They disregarded the true teachings
Of a man prepared to die
To further their ambitions so
With the truth they were quite shy
The truth is in there waiting
For you to go and find
Seek out your own true meaning
In a life where real love’s blind
Know if you look quite deeply
Within yourself for proof
Deep within your heart and immortal soul
Lives the Christ Light with all His truth
