The Fruitstand At Lunchtime
Skyler Drevan

The fruit are often rotten in the hot sun;
But at the fruitstand on the corner they remain fresh.
The sweetness that pours out of the apricot calls my name.
The juicy sweetness beckons to me.
Maybe I deserve a piece of fruit today.
I think I'll treat myself to a plum or two.
Or perhaps an apple will suffice or maybe a grape or an orange.
On second thought, I think I'll go to Olive Garden for lunch.
