One in a lifetime someone comes along
Someone you can call your best friend
I have such a person in my life
And I am so grateful
We share thoughts of the past and the future
Laughing and crying together we bond closer
On occasion we sit and stare at rows of trees
Not saying a word
The silence sometimes gets to you
But to me it is golden
Words left unsaid are the most powerful of all
For it is in your movements and actions
I see who you really are
The pain you cause me is so great sometimes
But the reward of you is greater still
One day maybe I can repay you
For all the good you have given me
You tell me I am the lucky one
But that is so not true
Really I am the lucky one
To have a best friend like you.
