I’m from the government
I’m here to help you
Hey, you want something for free
I’ll pave your road, build a new park
Just make certain you vote for me
These guys are really scoundrels
Nothing they won’t say
Figure we’re all stupid
Not much more than bales of hay
Doesn’t matter if they really mean it
Cause they know that we’ll forget
Too damn busy with our own lives
So we get just what we get
Most people feel they’re all crooks
Don’t even bother to vote
But let me leave this thought in mind
Is it better to have their crooks in
Or better to have one of mine
