the city streets become my muse
alive and well and full of life
enlighten me on Babylon
in dreams set sail adrift
while you listen to a slow train
as you lie awake in bed
and all the conversations
smoking on a cigarette

written underneath the bridge
where i could hear the sirens
scream racing through my mind
while the hissing sound of passing
cars retire for the night
