The Immortal Seed Patrick Collins
My seed has been planted,
The rain has come nigh,
And now the spring, shall make me grow high
But times of color are often made into times of gloom,
And if you freeze me, you will never see me bloom.
The seed was my beginning, and they say the frost shall be my end,
But such a frost shall stop, as water during a flood rushes up the bend.
The new spring rain shall give life to my seeds, and my color shall live on
And more of me shall spread, once I am dead and gone.
No foot shall conquer me; no frost shall bite me,
No host of tyranny shall ever spite me.
No one shall be deprived of me, and no one shall be denied me.
Many will abuse me, but none shall end me.
And as the leaves of my sides grow green into the sky,
My name shall remain ‘Love’ and I will never die.

"It was a good idea to use a flowwer to show the power of love and the human spirit" -- Steven.
"Hey, Collins! Though I'm no expert at poetry (something I intend to rectify) I can tell you that this flowed exceptionally well. I'm actually a little surprised to know that you write poetry. Also, have you written any new stories in the Smith & Ronalds series? Take care." -- Michael Harris, Detroit, MI.
"Well, thanks you both for your kind responses. As for you Michael, I have not had much time to finish my next BPD/Smith & Ronalds volume. I haven't really touched it for a while, but I hope to finish is soon. I am currently working on many film scripts, and yes I am a bit of a fan of poetry, I have two other poems on this site, as a matter of fact. Thanks for your support!" -- Patrick Collins.
"I agree with Steven, I really liked the metaphor here. Great work and hope to see more of you stuff on here soon :) thanks heaps for the review as well" -- Rebecca.
