DESCRIPTION
I truly feel that this is one of the best poems I've ever written because it tells a story as well. However, because the poem tells a story, the sentences are rather long. So I hope the structure of the poem comes out o.k. and doesn't interfere with the feel of the piece. [319 words]

The Preacher And His Friend David Daniels
Preacher stood on his soapbox and preached but no one seemed to care
Evilman walked up to him, pointed his finger and said,"You best beware"
The Preacher bowed his head and said,"Jesus will turn his back on you"
Evilman screamed at the top of his lungs that he didn't care what Jesus wants or what he will do
Preacher got down on his knees and started to pray
Evilman said,"Don't bother to pray for me,for I can not be saved"
Preacher stood up and looked into the Evilman's eyes and asked,"Do you feel love?"
Evilman said he does not feel anything since he was cursed by all the angels in Heaven above
The Preacher looked deeper into the Evilman's eyes and then he shed a tear
He told the Evilman,"God is always with you there's nothing to fear"
Evilman spit in the Preacher's face and said,"God is a waste of time"
"For I've been living a life of Hell and befriending the Devil is my crime"
The Preacher wiped the spit from his face and said,"I forgive you,can you forgive me?"
The Evilman said,"I'll only forgive you if you walk in my shoes and see what I see"
The Preacher felt defeated and thought there is no hope for this man
But still the Preacher said,"Come with me,please take my hand"
The Evilman asked,"First tell me,where am I to go?"
The Preacher said,"I will lead you away from the fires of Hell down below"
The Evilman laughed and said he couldn't come because he was cursed on the day of his birth
And he was born to lead a life of evil here on this wicked earth
The Preacher said,"Then all I can do for you is stop and grieve"
The Evilman began to walk away and said,"Maybe I'll make it to Heaven one day,if I believe"
As the Preacher watched the Evilman walk away,he knew that the relationship had come to an end
But somehow and someway, and by the good grace of God,the Preacher felt that he had just made-a friend

"I liked this :) especially because it isn't what we normally read on here. As for the structure it works well, to break up the sentences would ruin the feel. I really like the line "For I've been living a life of Hell and befriending the Devil is my crime". Great! " -- Rebecca.
"the structure was unique yes, but it worked, i liked this piece, was a good read, i really enjoyed it, look forward to reading more...well done" -- baker.
"cool! i like this style. the structure is fine, but if you cut some of the fat out it could be great. don't get me wrong, i really like this, but all things are better when you cut out the fat (besides a ribeye)." -- nick marshburn.
"wow, what goes on in your mind?" -- BM, FS, USA, NY.
"Great poem, and orginal too! However watch your "flow" the poem tends to get choppy at times, cutting out the fat will help with this." -- Erika, IN.
