Seasons Of My Past
Danae Bonomini
silent summer slipping by,
shadows growing long,
lazy days to think of you,
and wonder what went wrong.
the days i watched you surf till dusk,
our weekend trips away,
i took it all for granted then,
and now i have to pay.
remembering scarce but precious words,
when spring was in the air,
regretting that afternoon,
when i said i didnt care.
the autumn widn i dread are here
with winter rain in tow
but if those winds could blow
you back
i'd never let you go
