Got to find a road
That leads somewhere
To a place where people live in harmony
Where people love and you know they care
If there is an answer
It's something I've got to find
If I could find someone to hold me
It would surely ease my worried mind
Only time will tell
What will become of me
I've tried to find an answer in every land
I've even searched beyond the seven seas
There's to much confusion
Don't know who to trust
If you feel better doubting me
Then go ahead and doubt me if you must
Don't sit upon your high horse
And look down and judge me
I've tried my very best to take control
I've tried to be the best I can be
If you must look away
Look for an answer in the sky
But if for some reason you can't find one
Don't turn to me and ask me why
Maybe I should get religious
And I'll begin to pray
I'll look for the Lord's blessing
Perhaps the Lord can guide my way
But what if the Lord above
Turns his back on me
Will it be to late for forgivness
Will the Lord be able to set me free
What is freedom?
Can anyone tell me what it really means
Men have died in the name of freedom
But is freedom merely a dream
I don't feel free
I feel locked up in chains
I once had freedom
But now my prison cell is where I remain
I once had a heart full of love
But my heart was broken
I waited for someone to whisper sweet words of love
But they were never spoken
Watched a bird the other day
It couldn't fly for it had a broken wing
It walked about the ground helplessly
Unable to fly and unable to sing
Watched a boy the other day
He dropped his ice cream and began to cry
Mother came and embraced him in her arms
The sight made me want to die
I forgotten how it feels
To be held in someone's arms so tight
Whenever I dropped my ice cream
No one embraced me and and said it was all right
With each passing day that goes by
I seem to lose strength and grow weak
Tried to role the dice and gamble
But I never had a winning streak
Saw little boys and girls playing
They were having fun in the park
How can I have fun in my world
When the sun refuses to shine and it's always dark
Don't bear false witness
Against your neighbor or your friend
Don't lie,cheat or steal
Or you won't find forgivness in the end
Can anyone forgive me
For the sins I have done
If I can't find forgivness from the Father
Then perhaps I can find it from the Son
Contemplated suicide the other night
With a gun in my hand
If I were to take my own life
Do you think anyone would understand
Saw a young girl the other day
She was skipping rope
Though she skipped happily along
She reminded me that I've lost all hope
Everything I see
Reminds me of my troubled past
Whenever I feel happiness
It's a feeling that doesn't last
I'll try not to worry
Somehow I know I'll be all right
I wish the darkness would disappear
So I can finally see the light
