Christmas Green Emerald
Why couldn’t it be Christmas everyday?
We’d treat our loved ones in our own special way
Decorate our homes with tinsel and bright lights
Watch the Stars shining in the silent nights
Angel on the tree looking over us every night
Sitting by the fire, holding each other real tight
Christmas stocking hanging down the fire place
Waiting on Santa to come visit at his own pace
Mum dressed in deep red
With tinsel in her hair, she bakes the bread
Red and gold presents wrapped under the tree
Excited faces, with rosy red cheeks, all you see
Christmas dinner is what needs time and patience
Family gathering, eating together is the real essence
Say a prayer before we begin
“May we forever pray together, stay together & eat together”
Dad stands up to carve the roast turkey
We’ll have broccoli, carrots, sprouts and gravy
Time for the crackers pull it one by one
Pull one with Grandpa and one with Nan
Time to open all the lovely gifts
Watching every ones face lifts
Socks for Grandpa, Diary for Gran
Scarf for Grandpa, Perfume for Nan
Such a happy time when our family sits together
Deep in my heart I pray for every Christmas to be like this forever and ever
