Walking, walking
Taking one step in a new direction
Not really thinking
Just wondering along
Freeing my mind
Walking for hours
To nowhere at all
Just enjoying the day
And the art in the sky
Just getting to know the pavement
And all it’s little lines
Graffiti on the bridges
And dead evergreen pines
Hidden beauty in the garbage we find
The cracked old buildings
Seeing character in age
Then seeing the new boxes
That have no design
the houses of the future
Leaving me without a rhyme
Watching as I’m walking
All the people driving by
All having something on their mind
Strangers and kin all passing by
Never taking a moment to unwind
I’ll try to take it easy
To find some inspiration
Soak in all the beauty I can find
So I take a step in a new direction
So I never let beauty pass me by
