Poetry-Selections Michael Perry
“Alone”
Light cascading Snow falling virgin pure Dusted amongst the trees An untouched moment, tender
Winds whisper as natural voices become Mute at the sight
Naked branches stiffly poised Reaching skyward as a palm outstretched To receive the Grace of God
My humbled heart seeks beauty in all it’s forms and sees it in this night
No one knows I am here invisible tonight Seeing humanity as it happens Quietly observing, understanding What means the most to me. ******************************************** “Be Gone”
Winds seem to blow On this particular day Clouds forming on the horizon Look metallic on first view Suddenly the sun tries it’s hardest to peak through In a purple haze I will only wait for so long Watching for the changes to happen before me Trying not to make a sound But knowing in a brief instance, that something I have no control over what will happen next so I swallow hard To make the feelings be gone. *************************************
“Lovers for a Lifetime”
Swimming languidly Together beneath Blankets of stars Covering us In this life we have found Our destiny
A thousand slipped away moments Sharing ourselves As if each moment will be our last
Secrets to be shared Whispering in our ears A lovers language Spontaneously versed Between the sheets Of a silken sleep
In shadows we melt As candle wax wanes In the fading light Of a thousand perfect nights
Embraced in love Again renewed each chance Pleasuring ourselves Simply taking Measured pace Slowly seeing each other from a distance as if for the first time always and forever to be lovers and friends. ****************************************
“Moments Peace”
The city rushes To life Beating the sun Pedestrians cross streets escaping With their lives Yellow cab headlights Cut the darkness in half streets laid bare an echoed canyon devoid of feeling built of concrete with machines. Sounds echo from steel beam to steel beam Even this early the life of a city never sleeps in a park nearby solitude To escape for a moments peace Anytime of day will do.
