“On Sunday”

Coffee cup sits
undisturbed
aroma lacking
one less sip
Sunday paper
folded
not moved
from the door
a
solitary knock
waiting
 no response
a clock ticks 
frozen moments down 
in a room devoid of emotion, color
standing forever silent
without regard to space and time

“She Sits”

If silence
could shatter pain
in a room
the deafening 
sound of silence prevails

She sits

silence settles as if dust
to the floor, vailed, heavy, penetrating

her face heavy in her hands
trembling, broken

Her pain

is an egg shell

fragile and white

she does not move, 

frozen, her limbs refuse to move

as her mind, registers no response at all

numb, shaken, solitary

alone

time stands still as 

she tries to catch her breath once more

her eyes stare blankly ahead

emotionless, showing no life in them at all

To taste her lips
for me no more
She’s going away for good now
As I carry this burden alone for me 
from a love lost scorned
her final reply
that her heart is broken
for good this time 
she tells me this 
as my head stays bowed
that the mutual feelings 
of a love mutual once shared are
but a distant memory for us
allowing her to move on

To thine lips
I beg of thee
A fortnights gone
Can thou not see
As mine eyes will never rest
On your lovely face alas, tis misery.

Tears openly
for divine intervention
on my behalf

For once thine task to be complete
