Locked Away Jimmy Mason
Once in, it’s hard to get out.
When you have no breath, it’s hard to shout.
Never again to utter phrase or name.
All these feelings come out the same.
One more time I’d like to see, I’d like to look at the real me.
One more time I’d like to say, I’d like to live through one more day.
In your arms I’ve found my sin.
In this captured embrace I’m in.
Once lost, it’s hard to be found.
In the dark, underneath the ground.
One more, rainy day in time.
One more shackled convicted rhyme.
Here I am lost in a sea of blood.
Sinking slowly in sulfuric mud.
With the smoke I choke on.
And the tub I grub on.
They never show me anything, I haven’t seen before.
They never take the key, and unlock this door.
