Holiday Jumble Emily C Johnson
With all the commotion and holiday cheer,
We tend to lose site of those who are dear.
We live everyday with smiles on our faces,
Just to find that a frown will soon take their places.
With all of the hustle and running around,
We pass by each other without making a sound.
We do things that probably we shouldn't have done,
Things that make us want to get up and run.
We live day-by-day, hour-by-hour,
Always underestimating each other's power.
Maybe if we would check to see if they're there,
Or simply saying hi to them; pretend that we care.
To smile at them as if we have noticed,
Or helping them out so they feel solaced.
As we go on by through our everyday lives,
We need to help dry up all those tear-filled eyes.
After all, one small thing can mean all the world,
To someone whose soul feels wrinkled and old.
