I Hate Mondays
T Demarest
I hate Mondays.
They are like going to the dentist,
getting a cold in the summer and
having a bad haircut all rolled into one.
They are like eating brussel sprouts,
cleaning the scary bathroom and
having no time outside in the sun.
I hate Mondays.
They are like mucking the whole pasture,
getting shots with really big needles and
doing homework on a Friday night.
They bum me out beyond compare
and nothing that I do or say
can help to make it right.
I hate Mondays.
They make me feel like the weight
of the world is on my shoulders.
I want to hide under my covers
and pretend I’m all grown up.
Maybe then it wouldn’t feel like
I’m such a sad and sorry pup.
I hate Mondays.
I’m miserable just thinking of them
and my stomach is in knots.
I know I should just get over it
and treat them like any other day.
And yet, Mondays loom on the horizon
making me afraid and want to say…
I HATE MONDAYS!!!!
