I Question Why? Tara Bridget Moore
Why?
If reddened orb can greet the light,
If milky stars can kiss the night,
If thunder howls when lightening nears,
If stormy clouds can hide their tears,
If roots can cling to mother earth,
If birds can sing with joyful mirth,
Then why have you my love forsaken?
Your words, your deeds; was I mistaken?
If monarch wings can touch the sky,
If eagles soar to places high,
If mother bird can warm her nest,
If little babe can seek the breast,
Then why can I not have your heart?
With sadness and with sorrow part?
For epiphany has not come yet,
The day unfolds, the stars have set,
And gives the moment to allow,
Upon my lips this solemn vow,
To tell you now my love remains,
Within my heart, it life sustains,
And lives between the golden beams,
Within a valley deep,
And seeks that final resting place,
Where blessed angels sleep.
