We sit up late at night
Youre reading a book
And Im holding the light
Ive tried to be there for you
but you refuse help
youre stuck inside yourself
the smoke from your cigarette
forms a hole in the air
thats what were becoming: not yet
an empty void, its so unfair
my hand grows tired
holding the light stand
it was broken when you were fired
but I dont say a thing
You wouldnt hear me anyway
You throw your cigarette bud
And miss the ashtray.
The tattered curtains catch
And the fire starts to grow
And you stay unmoving
You dont even know.
Were locked inside
The ceiling fell
My voice is a yell.
Youre not where you’ve been
Vacant is your couch of a cell.
Your by my side
And batting the door
My agony was your awakening
You love me, im sure.
