Why To War
Rob Badger
History has been written down the line for all eternity
People have died and blood has been shed
Freedom has been at stake
Land has been lost and won
Inside everyone knows peace is best, they see
All their loved ones gone, they’ve bled
Every morning they wake
And are alone for the things this world has done
Every country trying to be the best I can be
Being hurt and angered at what the others have said
Nothing could ever take back what’s happened and what’s begun
If only our “leaders” would have read:
Into what their souls feel
What is right
And what is real
If they thought:
About what a sight it would be
Peace as reality
This idea we should all try for
A little bit more
Peace is possible
Turn the tables
Set differences aside and coincide
Because we may all hold opinions, we may all have differences
But we all hold dear one thing the same
We’ve lost so many loved ones in all this
We are lost in anger, agony, grief, and shame
Behind the ignorant mirror of victory
Our souls cry out like the moon to the sea.
