Rain On Me
Jina Kaye
It has been a long day and
I can hear the rain pounding around me...
I can smell the freshness as
the rain washes away the
old to bring in the new.
I stand under an awning,
wondering if I should let
the rain fall on me or...
if I should keep hiding.
Rain, it can really me up your day--
Perfect hair, perfect outfit,
sexy sandals...
soggy mess.
But it's more than that...
I've been waiting for this
rain to come to me.
I have been through so
many trials and tribulations
and the rain has finally
come to wash away my past--
so my future can finally come.
So,
Let it rain on me
And take away the pain
of my life's history.
Make way to the future
that needs to grow
and develop
so it can be fruitful
and I can multiply
knowledge to the
uneducated and abandoned.
Rain on me
So love can grow
and spread across the earth.
