Frayed Ribbons In The Night
Kira Carlee

Can love fall away
Like cut ribbons in the night
Spiral down in darkness
Unretreivable, and forever unfound
Can it tumble from between fingers
Ribbons frayed from time
From endless fights and unsaid words
That built up barriers we hide behind
Like stone walls of a fortress
Neither wishes to penetrate
As the secrets compile
And words won’t do any good
So we crouch in the shadow of castle walls
And pray for it all to simply go away
But when it’s done the threads have broken
And been consumed by blackness
That neither you nor I can defy
Is that how our love fell away?
Like cut ribbons in the night?
