The Cloud Jasmine P Batey
broken free from my old life,
I've run away,
I've escaped,
Now I'm free to be me
As I lay here,
in a park some where,
and I look to the sky,
to see a cloud passing by.
It's Light,
my head is heavy
Its care free,
I'm careful.
That was the old me,
and the reason that I left.
It is free,
and I was caged.
I have a chance,
a chance to start new.
Like a rainy cloud,
I can drop my load,
and disappear...
to start again,
somewhere new.
It's lovely,
I'm lovely.
It's pure,
I'm pure.
And we're both free.
and now,
every day,
I'm fluffy, light
and pretty too,
confidant calm,
and careless.
And when I get down,
I look up to the sky,
and remember that cloud -
the cloud that gave me the hope
to keep living every day.
