When Summer Comes Again
Jasmine P Batey
In the warmth of this night,
and the pale moon light
The cool water of the lake,
the soft caress of your lips on mine...
we sit here together
and a comfortable silence
has filled the air
the sunrises early;
to a bright new day,
of laughter and fun
and then it sets late...
The light breeze,
the hot sun
the soft sand
the blue ocean
The green grass,
colourful flowers,
the shading trees
the scent of the sea
the smell of barbecues
for every outside dine
the butterflies in my stomach;
and in that summertime..
So when winter is here,
and summer is gone,
I'll think of these days
to keep me warm
until winter turns to spring,
and the summer comes....
