It’s the way my feet feel when they first touch the court
It’s the hullabaloo of the tip off
The way I grip the basketball with my fingertips
It’s the way I hear the crowd in the background
It’s the way they shoot and I block
The way we shoot and we score
It’s the rage we defend with
The marvelous plays, the crazy couch
It’s the color of our jerseys against theirs
The foul, dishonest referee
The chant of the winners
It’s the day we’ve practiced for
The day we wait and wait for
It’s the red rim, and the round hoop
The sound they make when we score
It’s the outrageous fans
The pleasing scoreboard
It’s a fast-break
It’s a direct bounce pass
The way we rebound
The excitement of the last ten seconds
It’s a miracle save
The way we sprint
The adrenaline
The rush
It’s the way we want more
when it’s all said and done
