Veiw To Freedom
Ellie Burton

Perched
Like a bird on a cracked limb.
Frantic,
Holding onto the safety of the cliff's edge...
Slowly,
         Stumbling,
                          Away.
Knees trembling, clicking together.
Frightened.

Ice Flow Lake...
Royal, frozen, blue.
Threatening.
Pulling us in as it reaches to grasp us in a breathtaking embrace.
A vacuum in a cold, mountainous world...
...a world of ice and snow.
Imagination.

Waiting,
Patiently to catch us in its icy depths.
A sigh...
The breath of the wind.
Disappointment.

Safety.
Climbing joyfully...
Flying away.
A magnificent eagle, soaring in the clouds.
Sensation.
